Privacy policy
SerialCare processes only the information needed to provide product registration, warranty, passport and claim workflows for Shopify merchants.
Information we process
We may store the merchant's Shopify shop domain, Shopify product, variant, order and line-item identifiers, product title and image URL, serial number, purchase date, warranty dates, claim description, claim status, optional customer email, claim history, case notes and evidence needed for the warranty workflow. Shopify session data required to authenticate the merchant is also stored.
Information we do not intentionally collect
SerialCare does not require payment card information and does not intentionally store Shopify customer profile IDs for the warranty workflow.
How information is used
Information is used to register individual products, calculate warranty coverage, create public product passports, receive and manage warranty claims, communicate about a claim, provide merchant dashboards, secure the service, and provide support.
Retention and deletion
Merchant tenant data is deleted when Shopify sends the required uninstall or shop redaction event. Shopify privacy requests are handled through the app's compliance webhooks. Merchants should export information they need to retain before uninstalling.
Security
We use tenant-scoped database queries, authenticated Shopify admin requests, opaque public tokens, private evidence storage, database-backed abuse controls, and reasonable technical safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
